Dear Parents,
Please spare a few of your very valuable moments – and interact with us – in the interest of your own children.
Please check whether you agree with below statements….
1. India, a global leader upto17th century, produced several great scholars and scientists and contributed various significant innovations with far reaching consequences to the world; but lost its glory later mainly because of deviation from the core values of this holy land and unfortunately now, day-by-day is moving fast towards further degeneration. Surely, this does not augur well.
2. Our education system is teaching our children about operating computers and machines but not their own selves - whereby all round-growth is missing.
3. Our children are allured towards the food that damages their health, and do not like the food that nourishes their physical fitness and do not know about the practices for preventive health care.
4. Our kids are less aware about their potential to become great personalities by using the vast reservoir of mind-resources lying unused within themselves.
5. The youth of today are showing more inclination towards gadgets, chatting on mobile phones & internet, pubs, night clubs, and such other habits, that together distract them from playing a positive and constructive role in the society. It is resulting in wastage of time or landing them into unnecessary troubles.
6. Our future citizens seem to be lacking time for fine arts, poetry, society, nation, and family values. They consider those as conservative blind beliefs. They seem to be developing an active dislike and are mocking at the people who respect old values.
7. Our new generation considers the practice of truthfulness, honesty, compassion, self-discipline, hard work, respect for elders, concern towards nature, helping others, patience, non-violence, punctuality, open-mindedness, loyalty, sincerity, orderliness, and living with principles as virtues of weak people.
8. The students of today are mugging up the syllabus and missing the logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and practical knowledge required to perform actual-works, and finally becoming academically qualified but unemployable.
If we don’t work on correcting the above…what will happen?
1. Health disorders leading to increased medical expenditure.
2. Conflicts, riots, fanatic mindsets, emotional instability, and getting attracted to extremism and terrorism.
3. Unhealthy relationships, weakening of family ties, and increasing rate of divorce.
4. Unemployment, depression, suicidal tendency, and under-performing citizens
5. Deterioration of natural resources & pollution.
6. Addiction to harmful substances leading to abnormal increase in the crime rate.
7. Hypocrisy, mistrust, backbiting, and jealousy.
8. Corruption, violation of rules, and opportunism.
What is the solution?
1. Add core values into our education system.
2. Teachers must play a lead role in properly shaping the future generations.
3. Parents must spend quality time and be more concerned about the future of their children.
4. Elders should inspire, remind, and nurture practices to reinforce good principles.
5. Empirical evidences should be made available to youth about the benefits of the values.
6. Catch them young, mould them, instill self-control, and strengthen their will power.
7. Make youth to think about long term results Vs short term pleasures.
Inspired with the thoughts of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, Lead India 2020 Foundation was established in 2004 to do research and promote value-oriented curriculum to inspire youth to move in the right direction.
Lead India 2020, since its inception in 2004, has been instrumental in guiding and transforming the youth of this country into “Leaders with Values” as an empowered and ignited youth is an endurable weapon to realize our dream of a developed India. A value-oriented education is indispensable to cleanse our nation diseased with corruption, crime, violence, vulgarity, indulgences, excesses, poverty, illiteracy, health-issues, and poor amenities’ for most of the citizens, etc. These problems are day-by-day creeping into the social-fabric and impairing our dream of an all-round developed India .
Lead India’s interactive training-programs are creating a lot of positive ripples amongst the youth of our country. So far, Lead India 2020 has trained as many as 10 lakh children from the various districts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Lead India’s basic training consists of 8 modules and is conducted for 3 days for teenagers along with teachers – with a view to initiate them into a positive and contributing life.
